About this Location

USO Northwest’s Portland Center supports local and traveling service members and their families at the Portland International Airport with flight information, travel assistance, snacks and local area military discounts. With the help of over 100 volunteers, our Portland Center serves more than 1,400 service members and their families each month through center and outreach programs and services. Our outreach programs includes serving mobile events at military installations across Oregon and southern Washington.

TEMPORARY LOCATION - NEW CENTER UNDER CONSTRUCTION: We are temporarily located on the Baggage Claim Level near Carousel #2 and next to the Light Rail exit. An expansion project to our center is currently underway to better serve our military service members and their families traveling through the Portland International Airport. The expansion project will double the size of the USO center, improving service delivery to traveling service members and their families. The project will add a children’s playroom, expanded lounge, and secured luggage storage. The goal of this program is to lessen the stresses of separation for service members and their children.

Who Can Use the USO?

Occasionally, veterans or military retirees contact us to tell us they couldn’t get into a USO airport center because they are not active-duty military. As much as we’d like to open our doors to all those who have honorably served, we have limited space and financial resources.

Interested in Volunteering at the USO?

Volunteers are the heart and soul of the Portland Airport USO. If you would like to help keep our doors open and say thank you to our military and their families, then become a USO volunteer!

Please fill out the Online Volunteer Application. After the initial screening process you may be asked to come in for an interview and orientation. We will then schedule you for training and get you acclimated to our amazing team.

I appreciate all the USOs out there and I think they're a great way to show support to troops traveling on official business or even for leisure with their families. I hope they never go away, they are very useful and should be appreciated by everyone who takes it upon themselves to visit.
