Center Admissions Policy

USO Northwest Locations (SEA-TAC, PDX, Camp Lewis, and Shali Centers)

The USO appreciates the service and sacrifice of every veteran. In 1941, the United States Congress chartered the USO with a mission to serve “the men and women in the Armed Forces.” They were very specific in their intent; therefore, we raise funds, recruit volunteers, and provide programs and services to support those constituents - Active-Duty, Reserve, and Guard service members and their families.

USO Northwest Center Managers at our center locations are given the discretion to admit military retirees, DoD civilians and NATO service members on a space and resource available basis. In addition, the USO has transition programming focused on helping recently separated Veterans move seamlessly from military to civilian life. For more information on our transition programs, please click here. Again, the USO honors all who have worn and continue to wear the cloth of our nation, but simply are not funded or designed to serve those outside the categories and Veteran programs listed above.
