Operation: Back of the Net Scholarship
Local Scholarship Winner Announced at Seattle Sounders Match
Operation: Back of the Net is an annual program hosted by Southern New Hampshire University (SNHU) and its partners Major League Soccer (MLS) and the USO.
SNHU, the Worldwide Education Partner of the USO, offered a full tuition scholarship to a deserving service member, veteran, or military spouse. The scholarship was designed to assist someone looking to complete their education but does not have the financial resources to do so.
The winner of this year’s SNHU free scholarship was Sylvia Willis, a US Army Veteran and spouse of an Airman serving at Joint Base Lewis-McChord. With her scholarship, Sylvia plans to pursue a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting with her goal of becoming a CPA.
The announcement of the scholarship winner took place at the June 30th Seattle Sounders vs. Portland Timbers match at CenturyLink Field. Making the presentation was SNHU Representative Dr. Randy Plunkett, accompanied by USO Northwest Executive Director Don Leingang.
Congratulations and good luck, Sylvia!
