Shali USO Center - JBLM McChord Field

About this Location

Our USO Shali Center is strategically located adjacent to the Troop Holding building and the Passenger Air Terminal on McChord Field at Joint Base Lewis-McChord. USO-Northwest staff and volunteers work closely with base operations in order to provide assistance with troop deployments, homecomings, and care package distribution. Our Shali Center provides deploying service members sequestered in the Troop Holding Area building access to our center’s lounge, a full-service canteen, computers and the Internet, free WI-FI access, big screen TVs and Xbox gaming area. In addition, the USO Shali Center hosts free monthly “Thanks for Your Service” Meals" before pay day to military personnel and their families. Our USO Shali Center serves more than 20,000 service members annually.

Who Can Use the USO?

USO centers are available for the comfort and convenience of currently serving military personnel and their dependents.

All U.S. military personnel (Active Duty, Reserve and Guard) and their dependents with valid U.S. Department of Defense ID cards may utilize USO centers.

In addition, U.S military retirees with valid U.S. Department of Defense ID cards (and their dependents with valid U.S. Department of Defense ID cards) may enter and utilize USO centers. Gold Star Families/Families of the Fallen and their guests may enter and utilize USO centers.

Military dependents under the age of 18 must be accompanied and supervised by a parent/guardian.

While we value the service of other U.S. military constituent groups, including veterans, 100% disabled veterans, and other members of the uniformed services, these groups are not permitted access to USO centers as our primary purpose is to support currently serving military personnel and their dependents.

After getting delayed and rerouted and delayed and rerouted, I ended up at Sea-Tac at 0030 with my next flight at 0700. I found the USO and it was a blessing. Your volunteers are exceptional, always making sure we're taken care of. For example, a group of us passed out on the couches. A volunteer went around and tucked us all in with blankets. After a day that made me want to cry, I am so appreciative of what you do for us. Being able to wash my face and brush my teeth made my day bearable!
