Shali Center provides First Class service to deploying Soldiers
One of the most important and rewarding volunteer opportunities that occurs at our Shali Center is when our soldiers and airman deploy overseas. The volunteers at our JBLM Shali Center are proud to represent our nation and provide that last “Thank You” to our service members before they depart for faraway places.
Located between McChord’s Passenger Terminal and the building where deploying troops are assembled, the center is ideally positioned to support the many Army and Air Force units deploying. A cup of coffee, a cold soft drink, and a hot meal are always appreciated.
While some deployments happen when the center is open, often volunteers will come in at all hours of the day, including the middle of the night, to happily prepare a meal and serve our military members.
Interested in Volunteering at the USO? Volunteers are the heart and soul of the USO Shali Center, one of the busiest on-installation Centers in the U.S. If you would like to help keep our doors open and say thank you to our military and their families, then become a USO volunteer! Please fill out the Online Volunteer Application. After the initial screening process you may be asked to come in for an interview and orientation. We will then schedule you for training and get you acclimated to our amazing team.
