USO Northwest Brings Pop-up Gaming and Wellness Centers to Hundreds of National Guard at Salem and Portland Vaccination Sites
WHAT: USO Northwest will bring pop-up gaming and wellness centers to hundreds of National Guard service members stationed at Salem and Portland vaccination sites May 18-20, continuing the USO’s mission of strengthening service members by providing them with relief, while serving on the frontlines of the COVID-19 pandemic.
National Guard troops work five days a week for ten hours a day at the sites, helping to administer vaccinations to local residents. Each pop-up will provide the men and women of the National Guard with a break during the demanding shifts by offering gaming, massages and refreshments on-site to enjoy. The pop-up gaming and wellness centers are an effort to bring morale-boosting entertainment to the National Guard helping local Oregon communities and are made possible through partnerships with USO Northwest, T-Mobile, Moda Health and Jones Soda.
The USO goes where service members go, supporting troops whenever and wherever they need it. Throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, the USO has deployed their mobile units, bringing a touch of home and a sense of normalcy to service members, no matter their location.
WHEN: Pop-Up Gaming and Wellness Centers State Fairgrounds in Salem, OR: May 18 & 19, 2021 Oregon Convention Center in Portland, OR: May 20, 2021 All media must have approval to be on-site prior to the event date.
