February No-Snow No-Dough Dinner!

Julie Cieloha-Whitney and Dave Whitney with thankful service members

February’s No-Dough Dinner actually had to be pushed back 2 weeks because we got snowed out the first attempt!
Our successful No-Snow No-Dough occurred on February 28th right before payday from 11:00am-1:00pm at the USO Shali Center and was open to all active-duty military and their families. As well as retirees.
Our No Dough Dinners provide a free meal once a month for service members and families of Joint Base Lewis-McChord.
It is a unique and uplifting opportunity to bring together friends and neighbors in a casual, family-friendly, environment. Military parents get a night off from kitchen duty and the military children have a chance to make new friends, all while enjoying a hearty meal provided by the volunteers and staff of the USO-NW Shali Center.
It was sponsored by our very own Board Member Julie Cieloha-Whitney and her Husband Dave Whitney who came up all the way from Portland to be at the lunch. They are proud supporters of the USO Northwest and on behalf of the service members and their families we serve, thank you for your generous support.
“It was such an honor for Dave and I to be there and actually meet these amazing people who serve our country and also the amazing volunteers! It was humbling to say the least. We were both speechless!”
