Military Spouses come together at Coffee Connections
Every 3rd Wednesday of the month, the USO Camp Lewis Center, hosts “Coffee Connections”, an event that brings active duty military spouses together for a fun morning of crafts, games and lively discussions. Military spouses can sometimes feel alone and isolated, especially when their family arrives at a new duty station. Coffee Connections is a great way to meet other like-minded spouses and quickly form new friendships and learn about community resources. We have frequently heard spouses say “Oh, you live down the street from me, let’s go to lunch next week!” Some of the craft projects that we have recently featured include: canvas painting, holiday ornaments and door wreaths, cookie and cake decorating and building birdhouses. Occasionally, we bring in experts from the community to conducts workshops like: a car care clinic, local area artists and award winning chefs.
The USO Camp Lewis Center is conveniently located in the heart of Joint Base Lewis-McChord on Lewis Main at the corner of 12th Street and Pendleton Blvd inside the ACU Credit Union building. The Center is open Monday through Friday, 0900-1500. If you’re an active duty military spouse and are interested in more information about attending a Coffee Connections event, watch our USO Northwest Facebook page (https://northwest.uso.org/USONorthwest) or contact our Camp Lewis Manager, David Dutcher [ddutcher@uso.org].
