New USO Center serves recruits at Portland MEPS
Since opening our new Center at the Portland Military Entrance Processing Station (MEPS), USO volunteers have been serving approximately 1,400 new recruits a month. The Center features a 1100 square foot, dedicated room for recruits to get a snack and a drink, play video games or pool, charge their phones or just take a break and relax in one of our lounge chairs. Our incredible USO volunteers staff the Center during open hours of 0900 to 1700, Monday thru Friday. This amazing new USO Center helps new recruits adapt to military life and introduce the mission of the USO to our next generation of leaders.
