About this Location

USO Northwest’s Portland Center supports local and traveling service members and their families at the Portland International Airport with flight information, travel assistance, snacks and local area military discounts. With the help of over 100 volunteers, our Portland Center serves more than 1,400 service members and their families each month through center and outreach programs and services.

In 2018, USO-NW completed a Portland Center expansion project to better serve our military service members and their families traveling through the Portland International Airport. The expansion project double the size of the USO center, significantly improving our ability to provide deploying and transitioning service members and their families with USO programs and services designed to meet the unique needs of today’s service members. Facilities and programs added through the project, include a children’s playroom, expanded lounge, luggage storage and the Bob Hope Legacy Reading Program – a reading program that will help the USO extend its reach and connect military families around the globe through reading. The goal of this program is to lessen the stresses of separation for service members and their children.

I appreciate all the USOs out there and I think they're a great way to show support to troops traveling on official business or even for leisure with their families. I hope they never go away, they are very useful and should be appreciated by everyone who takes it upon themselves to visit.
